Mahebourg

Before 1 July 1847 there was only a receiving house. Initially the postmaster was Mr.A. Macquet-Notary (£30p.a.). Local Letter Carriers established in 1875. Moved to the railway station on 9 September 1875. In 1877 became a first class office.Dealing with Express letters from 1 July 1903. In 1927 it had a letter box with two daily collections. Moved to a new building in June 1964. The post office was still opened 1968.
